Cremation with Integrity

Safe And Secure For Your Peace Of Mind.

Experience true peace of mind with our trusted cremation services. When you choose Tufts Schildmeyer, you can be confident that your loved one is always cared for by our own compassionate, highly trained staff. Because all cremations take place in our privately owned crematory, your loved one never leaves our protection. Every step of the process is handled by certified professionals who approach their work with dignity, respect, and careful attention.

Clean, Secure Crematory

We are one of the few funeral homes in the region that operates an on-site crematory within our clean, modern, and secure facility. Many funeral homes outsource cremations to off-site locations such as warehouses, garages, or industrial spaces, which provide far less oversight. You and your family deserve better. At Tufts Schildmeyer, we offer the highest standard of care in a safe, dedicated environment.

Individual Cremations

Each cremation is performed individually and carried out to the highest professional standards. To ensure every detail is handled properly and respectfully, our team follows a strict Pre-Cremation Checklist for every loved one entrusted to us.

Personal Inspections

We are proud to be the first crematory in the area to welcome families to personally inspect our facilities, should they wish. For those who prefer to be present at the beginning of the cremation, we provide a private viewing room located directly beside our crematory.

Certified Experts

As active members of the Cremation Association of North America, our staff completes advanced training and certification in cremation procedures. We strictly follow the Cremation Code of Ethics, reaffirming our commitment to professionalism, transparency, and integrity.

Understanding The Cremation Process

Cremation is a safe, environmentally responsible process that reduces the body to its basic elements. During the procedure, the casket or approved container is placed into the cremation chamber, where temperatures reach up to 1,650 degrees Fahrenheit.

After several hours, the remaining bone fragments are carefully removed, processed into a finer material known as “cremated remains,” and placed in a temporary container or an urn selected by the family. Throughout the entire process, we use a meticulous tracking and identification system to ensure absolute accuracy and care.
