William "Bill" Ray Bowling II, of Blanchester, Ohio, passed away on May 5, 2022, at the age of 73. Born July 10, 1948, in Dayton, Ohio, son of William Ray and Verna Mae (nee Smith) Bowling. Bill proudly served his country as a United States Marine and fought bravely at the battle of Hue during the Vietnam War. He worked for GE Aviation for over 40 years where he ultimately retired in 2008. Bill was the beloved husband of June (nee Mackenzie) Bowling; loving father of James Mackenzie Bowling, Gillian Denise Bowling, Johnathan Ray Bowling, and Cory Alexander (Shelby Caitlyn) Bowling; proud grandfather of Rae Mackenzie Bowling; dear brother of Debbie (Jerry) Paul and Sharon (Joe) Wisbey; brother-in-law of Patty Bowling; uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his son, William Ray Bowling III; brother, L. Roger Bowling. The funeral service will be held at 1pm on May 11, 2022, at Grace United Methodist Church, 201 E Center St, Blanchester, OH 45107, where friends will be received from 11am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be directed to the following charities in memory of Bill Bowling. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network-Mission is to improve the lives of everyone impacted by pancreatic cancer by advancing scientific research, building community, sharing knowledge, and advocating for patients.
