Funck

William “Bill” E. Funck of Cincinnati, OH, passed away on February 23, 2026, at the age of 82. Bill was born on March 19, 1943, in Cincinnati, OH to William and Helen Funck. 

Bill was the loving companion of Joan Turner, dear friend of Donald Hurd, Jim Kern, Jim Peters, William Cobb, Tim Heaberlin, and Bob Wilson. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen Funck and his sister, Dana Funck. 

Bill proudly served in the United States Navy and the Seabees during the Vietnam Era. When he finished his term with the Navy in California, he bought a ’55 Chevy and drove it across the nation, which was the dawn of his legacy, to be nicknamed Mr. ’55. His love for Jesus Christ and his church was his anchor for a wholesome and disciplined life. To know Bill, gave you a flashback of a wholesome, uncluttered life, the way it should be.  A beautiful lady by the name of Joan Turner caught Bill off guard and became the love of his life. He truly cherished Joan, who rounded out his life, like beautiful skies and sunshine at your back. So much could be said for Bill's life and his personal accomplishments and legacy and the impact he had on so many friends. He also held the finance treasure position with the Seabee Veterans of America. For over five years, Bill was a DJ for WOBO 88.7 not for profit radio station spinning records on Big Time bands, known as Mr. B. Bill lovingly served his church (First Church of Christ, Scientist Cincinnati) in the capacity of reader and usher. Bill enjoyed membership in the Metallic Club of Cincinnati. 

Bill, we salute you for allowing us to be in your life. With gratitude and love, we'll see you in the next chapter of life. Your friends...

A celebration of life gathering will take place from 11 AM to 12 Noon on Wednesday, March 4 at First Church of Christ, Scientist Cincinnati, 3035 Erie Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45208. Food and fellowship immediately to follow.
