Obituary

William (Bill) Creamer died peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, October 25, 2016. He was 85. Bill was born July 23, 1931, the youngest of 9. Growing up on a farm, he helped his family with all of the responsibilities of that life, while attending school in Maineville and later Loveland, OH where he graduated high school in 1949. In December 1951, he joined the United States Air Force where he was trained to perform his responsibilities as a Senior Radar Mechanic, ultimately reaching the rank of Airman First Class. During his service, he was based in such diverse places as Iceland, Aves Island, Alaska and Barbados. It was there that he met and eventually married his bride Barbara in 1955. The couple returned to greater Cincinnati, settling in Loveland to raise their family. Bill was employed by the IBM Corporation where he worked as a Field Engineer for 30 years, retiring in 1986. Bill, a member of a very large extended family himself, enjoyed frequent get-togethers with them including an annual reunion that he loved to attend. He had a lifelong love of the outdoors and worked for some of his retirement years for the Cincinnati Nature Center. He enjoyed building and operating radio-controlled model boats and aircraft with friends as a member of the Sycamore Modelers Club. His other great passion was photography and he was a skilled portrait and nature photographer. Bill is survived by his wife Barbara, their children - Michael and his wife Phyllis, Leslie (Madalinksi) and her husband David, and Mark and his wife Stacey, grandchildren Colton and Eric Creamer, Sarah and Mikaela Madalinski, and Jennifer (Stahl) and her husband Mike, great-grandchildren Cayden, Isaiah, Elijah and Gabriella Stahl, his sister Anna (Hancock), and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Guy and Ida May Creamer, five brothers Lawrence, Alfred, Roy, Howard and Paul (all of whom served in WWII and returned home safely), and two sisters Elva (Oeder) and Mildred (Schoellman). Because the family had already planned a Thanksgiving reunion with Bill's children and grandchildren, a joyful celebration of his life will be held at Tufts-Schildmeyer Funeral Home in Loveland, OH on Tuesday November 22, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to come and share in celebrating Bill's life. Memorials are greatly appreciated and are requested to be made to Matthew 25: Ministries (www.m25m.org), a Cincinnati-based Humanitarian Organization whose work Bill supported for 25 years.
