Warren Edsel Coffey age 95 of Loveland, Ohio passed away May 12, 2017. He was born January 1, 1922 in Oneida, TN. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Coffey; children, Linda(nee) Coffey (Don) Prince, Tyrel (Stephanie) Coffey, Daryl(Shelley) Coffey, Shaneen Coffey, and Lyla Burgess; grandchildren, Angie, Joel, Bethany, Ryan, Kara, Brandon, Matthew, Ethan, and Cameron; great-grandchildren, Grace, Clay, Elizabeth, Jackson, and Amelia; nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
He was a man of great wit, charm and humor. After completing his WWII service in the pacific theater as a corporal in The Army Air Corps, he became a fencing instructor, a weightlifter (Mr.Cincinnati 1951), a recording artist manager, a classical & flamenco guitarist, a writer of both books and song, a "Trekkie" and an accomplished marksman. The Greater Cincinnati Guitar Society was founded in 1959 by Warren E. Coffey (first President)under the name of Cincinnati Society of Classic Guitar (http://www.cincinnatiguitarsociety.org/history.html). He also had a 50-year career at Ford Motor Company. Above all he was beloved by his family.
His Christian faith was beautifully expressed (If Christ Had Not Come) as a guest columnist in Christmas issues of both the Cincinnati Post and Cincinnati Enquirer.
Graveside Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 17 at 11 AM at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. 3rd St., Dayton, OH 45428. Friends and family are welcome.
