Walter L. Simpson, 85, of Blanchester, went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Jacquelyn (nee West) Simpson for almost 60 years, dear father of Lisa Simpson (Rick Fravel) and Scott (Jeanette) Simpson; loving grandfather of Tabatha (Doug) McCracken, Kari (Jonathan) Simpson-Hike, Charles Sweat, Kevin Simpson, Alicia Fravel, and the late Jenna Kay Simpson; proud great-grandfather of Bristol McCracken; brother of John W. Simpson. He leaves behind many loved ones. He retired from the Blanchester Post Office after 30 years of service and was a lifelong farmer. Walter was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #179, Clinton County Farm Bureau, Blanchester Senior Citizens, and Blanchester Area Historical Society. He was a Korean War Veteran and a past Blanchester Boy Scout Master, Walter loved God, family, friends, and farming. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter B. and Violet (nee Ross) Simpson; sisters, Mary, Edna, Donna, Margie, and Betty; one brother, Robert. Friends will be received Friday, February 20, 2015 from 5-7pm at Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St. Blanchester, OH 45107. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 10am at Grace United Methodist Church, 201 E. Center St. Blanchester, OH 45107. Interment will take place at Graceland Memorial Gardens, Milford, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be directed to Grace United Methodist Church, 201 E.
