Virginia "Jini" Gessing (nee Kinker) passed away on November 22, 2025. Born on January 5, 1926 to Elmer and Jeannette (Barron) Kinker, she is survived by her five devoted daughters, Jeanne (Don) Kiser, Susan (Mike) Jones, Joyce (Terry) Donnellon, Connie (Mike) Haglage, Cathy (Dan) Brady, 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors, preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry C. Gessing, and dear sister Marian Kinker Brems.

Jini lived her whole life in Cincinnati. She attended high school at Ursuline Academy and graduated from the University of Cincinnati. Marriage to Henry in 1947 was a happy union that lasted 73 years. After raising a family together, they enjoyed traveling, golfing, playing cards, volunteering, and spending time with friends and family to whom they were deeply devoted. She was always interested and curious about what was happening in the world and in the lives of all the people she knew and loved so much. The Catholic faith was her cornerstone. She attended daily Mass for decades and prayed the rosary every day. Jini was especially known for her quiet strength and gentle spirit. In all her 99 years, she never had a bad word to say about anyone. Jini will be fondly remembered for her warmth and kindness.

Visitation will be at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8815 E. Kemper Rd, on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 8:45 am to 9:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am, followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
