Obituary

On Tuesday, June 23rd, 2020, Vasilia Nikias nee Kougios, 93, of Cincinnati, Ohio, fell asleep in the Lord. She was born on May 5th, 1927 in Rhodes, Greece. She was the beloved wife of the late Peter C. Nikias, dear mother of Charlie (Vicki), Maria (Cary), George (Mary) and Venice (Chuck). Beloved sister of Mike (Alice) Kougios and the late Constantine (Despina), Penelope (Michael) and Phillip (Peggy). Also a cherished grandmother of Bill (Melissa), Vasilia, Christine (Ron), Peggy, Tessa, Alex (Ashley), Jennifer (Alex), Andy (Marina), Leah (Jimmy), Jacob (Katie). And also survived by 16 wonderful great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Vasilia was a survivor of the German occupation in Rhodes, Greece during World War II. Our mother was an excellent seamstress and worked for Gidding-Jenny, and the Gentry Shop. In her spare time she loved to tend to her garden. Her faith in God and her family were most important to her. She was a faithful attendant of Greek Orthodox Church in Finnytown, Ohio. The family would like to thank her loving caregivers and friends, Jill Reynolds, Heidi Mitchell, Jenny Hazlett, Linda Cox and Chris and Victoria Kotsovas.
