Varen Hans VanVuren, 77, of Midland, Ohio, passed away at his home on June 1,2023 surrounded by family.

He was the beloved husband of 52 years to Ferne VanVuren; proud father of Angela (Cecil) Smith and Frances (Scott) York; loving grandfather of Jacob Smith, Jeremy (Ambria) Smith, Brennen Moore, Madison York, Ashley Bryant, Elisaha (Matt) York, and Jessica York; great-grandfather of Aliana Martin, Liam Bryant, Brook Little, Luis Vargus-Smith, Selena Vargus-Smith, Brian Vargus-Smith, Jaden Vargus-Smith, Peyton Carter, Preslee Carter, and Packston Carter; dear brother of Violet (Bob) Osborn.

Varen was preceded in death by his parents, Hans and Clara VanVuren; son, Varen VanVuren, Jr.; granddaughter, Brittany Moore; sister, Velma Highley; brother, Edward VanVuren.

The funeral service will be held at 2pm on June 7, 2023, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, Ohio, where friends will be received from 1pm until the time of service.

Interment will take place at Westboro Cemetery, Jefferson Township.
