Obituary

Tracy Ann Czaika, 59, of Martinsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully in the care of hospice and went to be with the Lord on August 3. Tracy was born on June 21, 1959, in Kentucky, to Earl and Mary Jane Bunton (Fightmaster). The family later moved to Cincinnati and after her fathers death, her mother remarried Richard Shanklin, of Blanchester, Ohio. Tracy attended school in Blanchester and graduated from Blanchester High School. She married Paul Czaika in 1979 and together they had one son, Jasson. The family resided in Westboro, Ohio, where Tracy had many passions and hobbies, including sewing, crocheting blankets and gardening. Her favorite way to pass the time was in the company of her family and friends around the kitchen table, or, when the weather permitted, outside on the porch with iced tea. She was an excellent cook, sharing many of her original recipes with her family over the years, and delighted her visitors with her stories and the canned food from her gardens. She loved strawberries, hummingbirds, quilts and photography. Later in life, Tracy met Bill Benningfield and the couple settled at a farm in Martinsville, Ohio, where she lived until the time of her death. She worked for many years in corporate business at The Kroger Company. She was loved for, and will forever be remembered for, her kindness, thoughtfulness, compassion and her sense of humor. Tracy was the beloved mother of Jasson (Shanna) Czaika and loving grandmother to Trenton, Aisley and Kinley Czaika, of Midland, Ohio; beloved girlfriend of Bill Benningfield, of Martinsville, Ohio; dear sister of Charles Bunton, of Midland, Ohio and Robbin Shanklin, of Blanchester, Ohio; and niece of Kelly Fightmaster, of North Fort Myers, Florida. She was adored by her nieces and nephews: Christine Czaika, of Fayetteville, Ohio; Victor Czaika of Fayetteville, Ohio; Whitney Brignolo (Shanklin) of Mason, Ohio; Robbin Shanklin, Jr., of Williamsburg, Ohio; Ashley Bunton of Moab, Utah; and Nikki Bunton of Midland, Ohio. She leaves behind her many great-nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Tracy was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Bunton, and Mary Jane Shanklin. A funeral service is being held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, at the Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St., in Blanchester, Ohio. Friends will be received from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
