Thomas White of Blanchester, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the age of 87.
Born May 5, 1930 in Jackson Co., Kentucky, son of Tom and Eve (nee Campbell) White.
Thomas graduated from Blanchester High School in 1948. He went on to serve in the US Navy for one year aboard U.S.S Fargo, a heavy cruiser deployed to the Mediterranean Sea for the entire year. Following his time in the service, Thomas married Marie Kilburn in 1950. He joined the Wilmington Police Department in 1954, where he served until 1983, his last 10 years as chief of the department. Thomas was a graduate of the 90th class of the FBI National Academy. He served as a probation officer from 1984-1994 for Brown Co., Ohio. Thomas was a city councilman in Blanchester and served as the Mayor from 2004-2008. He was a member of the Wilmington Masonic Lodge for 65 years and was the Master of Arms at the Blanchester American Legion.
He was the loving father of Dana White and Gary (Chong) White, loving grandfather of Suki Baker, Kristina White, Holly White, and great grandfather of Juhno Eric Baker, dear brother of Frances (Herschel) Parker.
Along with his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marie (nee Kilburn) White.
Friends will be received on May 9, 2018 from 6-8pm at Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, Ohio.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the funeral home.
Interment will take place at Blanchester IOOF Cemetery, Blanchester, Ohio.
