Beloved son of Mick and Sylvia Thiel of Loveland, Ohio. Loving brother of Brian (Dianna) Thiel of Palm Harbor, FL, Andrew (Kiley) Thiel of Charlotte, NC, and Dan (Lisa) Thiel of El Segundo, CA. Loving proud uncle to Brooke and Jacob of Palm Harbor, Scheper and Tucker of Charlotte, and Olivia, Chloe, and Scarlet of El Segundo. Tom was a devoted cousin and friend to many, a Dayton Flyer, Man of Moeller, and proud American. Tom was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents George and Rita Scheper and his paternal grandparents Elmer and Mary Thiel.
Tom lived life to the fullest, practicing true Christ like values of caring for the poor, feeding the hungry, and housing the homeless. The kind stories of his friends on Folly Beach are truly heartwarming. Tom died in a tragic house fire in Folly Beach, SC on March 22, 2013.
Tom graduated from the University of Dayton in 1992, Moeller High School in 1988, and St. Columban Grade School in 1984.
Tom loved to travel the world on business and vacation and would go anywhere for his beloved Pearl Jam concerts. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Columban Church, 894 Oakland Road, Loveland on Tuesday, April 2 at 11 AM where friends will be received from 9 to 11 AM. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
