Thomas E. Atkins, 86 years old (June 18, 1929 February 27, 2016) loving and devoted husband of 61 years to Dessie Atkins (nee Fletcher). Beloved father of Steve (Sheryl) Atkins, Lisa Atkins Bibee, David (Beth) Atkins, and Jerry (Carol) Atkins. Adoring grandfather of Christine (Aaron) Sweat, Brett (Jennifer) Bibee, Michael (Sarah) Atkins, Jennifer (Andrew) Swanson, Ryan Atkins, Kaytlin (Daniel) Posadny, Daniel Atkins, Laura Atkins, Kevin Atkins, and Adam Atkins; and great grandfather of Aiden Sweat, Gavin Bibee, Ethan Posadny, and Lukas Swanson. Dear brother of the late James (Dorothy) Atkins, the late Mary Jane (Ralph) Vogelsang, and the late William (Rita) Atkins. Son to the late Lilly Duffy Atkins and the late Clinton Atkins. And a friend to all he ever met. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a First Sergeant in Korea (1951-1953). Attended University of Cincinnati evening college 1954-1959, receiving an honorary Bachelor of Business Administration degree in June 1994. For 40 years, he worked nationally in the illuminated sign business. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 2nd from 5:00 pm8:00 pm Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home in Loveland, OH. Memorial Service will be Thursday, March 3rd at 10:00 am at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, followed by a Christian burial with military honors at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
