Thomas Francis Barrett passed away on May 29, 2026 in the comfort of his home surrounded by people who loved him. Tom leaves behind his loving wife Karen and their four children: his daughter, Mary, and her husband, Thomas, along with their children Jonathan and Alison; his son, Thomas, and his wife, Robin, along with their children Keara and Quinn; his son, James, and his wife, Deborah, along with their children Kelsey, Kate, and Sydney; and his son, Michael, and his wife, Amy, along with their children Finnigan and Charles. Tom grew a large family that he was very proud of throughout his life.

Tom was born in Archbald, Pennsylvania in 1941. He met the love of his life, Karen, in high school. They would navigate life together for the next 68 years. He attended the University of Scranton and served in the National Guard of the United States. Tom was a successful entrepreneur and business man in Cincinnati, Ohio for most of his life. For 44 years, Tom was the owner and president of Barrett Group Incorporated, a manufacturers’ representative sales agency, selling architectural building products, and electronic security products in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Western PA. He recently retired and passed down the reins to his daughter, Mary to continue his legacy. Tom could be heard saying his proudest accomplishment was working hand in hand with his daughter, Mary, at the company he built. Tom’s success enabled him to send his children to universities to pursue professions that excited him. Today they are business owners, doctors, artists, teachers, and global product leaders.

Tom had a strong love for youth sports, cars, and golf. When he was not working or spending time with loved ones, he was often involved in one of these activities. He played a critical role in bringing youth soccer from Forest Park to Deerfield Township. He bought the cars he wanted and enjoyed working on his golf game. Tom was a generous man who gave the most when people were not looking. He had a large appetite for laughter, life, food, and sharing moments with family and friends. Whether you knew him as Tommy, Big Tom, or Tom you left with a good memory. Tom will be remembered and he will be missed.

A visitation to honor Tom’s life will be held on July 17, 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Margaret of York Church, located at 9499 Columbia Rd, Loveland, OH 45140. Friends and family are encouraged to gather, share stories, and celebrate Tom's life during that time.

A mass will follow the visitation. Tom's funeral service will take place at 10:00 AM at the same location, St. Margaret of York Church, located at 9499 Columbia Rd, Loveland, OH 45140.

A burial will take place following the funeral at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, located at 11000 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45249. People can proceed from the funeral service directly to the cemetery.
