On September 23, 2026, Terry Allen Baum of Maineville, OH passed away at age 71 after living with Parkinson's Disease for 7 years. Terry was born to the late Robert and Helen (nee Janiga) Baum in East Chicago, IN on October 15, 1954.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 49 years, Jeanne C. (nee Pawlowski) Baum. They were married September 24, 1977 in Sacred Heart Church, Notre Dame, IN. He was a loving father of Kevin M. Baum of West Lafayette, IN and Eric A. (Ashley) Baum of Blue Ash, OH and a dear brother of David A. (Lisa) Baum of Newark, OH. He cherished his granddaughter Carson Gray of Lafayette, IN. He was honorary grandfather of Blake Wilkerson (Gage Holmes) of Louisville, KY and Reese Wilkerson of Lafayette, IN, and Godfather to several nieces and nephews. Terry was kind, thoughtful and generous. He will be dearly missed by his many extended family members and friends.
Terry graduated in 1972 from Portage (IN) High School. He graduated in 1976 from the University of Notre Dame with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He was a 4-year member of the University of Notre Dame Marching and Concert Bands; he also served as Band Secretary.
From 1976 to 1984 Terry was employed by CTS Corporation in Elkhart, IN. In 1984 he transferred to CTS Microelectronics in West Lafayette, IN. He was a proud member of the team working on the Cassini Mission to Saturn which launched in 1997 from Cape Canaveral. From 2005 to his retirement in 2024, Terry was employed by L3Harris in Mason, OH. He was an active 35-year member of the Indiana Chapter of The International Microelectronics Assembly and Packaging Society (IMAPS). While living in West Lafayette, Terry was a very active member of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament. He especially enjoyed serving as DJ at the annual Parish Appreciation Dinner at Christmastime. He was currently a member of St. Columban Catholic Church, Loveland, OH.
Terry had a life-long love of music and sports. He played the clarinet and Hammond organ, which inspired Kevin to become a drummer and Eric to become a guitarist. The family supported live music and attended numerous concerts. Among Terry's favorite groups were Deep Purple, Pink Floyd and Rush. He was an avid collector of vinyl albums and 45's. He was extremely involved in both sons' youth sports, including coaching their baseball and soccer teams. He then became a licensed umpire in the State of Indiana for the Tippecanoe School Corporation. He cheered for Notre Dame football, the Chicago Bears, Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs. Terry enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. The family's favorite vacation spot was Ogunquit, Maine.
No formal services will be held, but gatherings to celebrate Terry's life will be held at later dates.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Terry may be directed to the Robert O'Brien Fund.
