Tammy Jean Ritchie, 53, of Loveland, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord Jan. 10, 2021, at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She is survived by Jeff (57), her husband of 35 years her daughter Lauren A. Opp (Joey); granddaughters Laila Jilliann (3); Evie Jean Faith, (1); and her father James W. Stone (73). She is preceded in death by her mother Jill D. Stone.
Tammy was born April 22, 1967 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to James W. and Jill D. Stone. She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior Oct. 12, 1980. Tammy graduated from Glen Este high school in 1985 and married Jeffrey Scott Ritchie on July 22 of the same year. She became a mother on October 29, 1988. Being a mother and a grandmother was her greatest joy in life.
In public or at church, Tammy was quiet and humble. But with her family, she was quick to laugh, quick to help, and gave the best advice. She was always ready to listen when anyone needed it, and everyone counted on her wisdom. She dedicated her life to the Lord and her family. She never sought attention. The people blessed to be close to her knew her to be a prayer warrior, faithful Christian, and a rock for everyone who loved her. Tammy's life verse was Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me."
Tammy's cozy home was Grand Central Station for her family. Everyone knew they could stop by any time for a cup of coffee and the best grilled cheese around—and they did. Her living room was always full of her siblings, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. She was everyone's babysitter, caring for her granddaughters, most of her nieces and nephews, and numerous children in her community. While her daughter was growing up, her home was the place of countless sleepovers, movie nights, and pizza parties with her nieces—always with Holtman's donuts in the morning.
Everyone will miss her good home cooking, especially her cheesy chicken croissants, chicken and dumplings, grilled cheese, macaroni and hot dogs, and pumpkin whoopie pies.
Tammy will be greatly missed by her family: Brothers James L. Stone (Toni), Steven W. Stone (Melissa), Jason K. Stone (Leeann); sisters Sandra D. Colwell (Rick), Amy R. Little; nephews Cory M. Stone, Jacob M. Stone, Jason K. Stone, Jr. (Chyanne), J. Logan Little, Joshua A. Stone, Landen C. Little, Caleb J. Stone; nieces Cassandra L. Stone, Brittany N. Jewell (Joseph), Chelsea M.
