Sylvia Elaine is survived by her sister, Ruth Kvalnes of Cambridge, MD; brothers, Thomas Nichterlein of Fruitland, MD and Frederick Nichterlein of Lawrenceville, NJ; 4 nieces, Kalla, Krista, Kara and Kanda; 2 nephews, Paul and Bryan Nichterlein; 4 great nieces and 2 great nephews. She graduated from Penns Grove High School in 1959. Became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1960. After moving to Cincinnati she worked at Good Samaritan Hospital where she retired after 35 years. She went on to volunteer at the hospital, and recently received an award for 4,000 hours of volunteer service.
