Steven L. Claybourn, 73, of Cincinnati, OH, passed away on August 21, 2022 after a battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Steve was born on April 11, 1949 to Charles and Genevieve Claybourn in the Panama Canal. After graduating high school and going to college, Steve served two tours in Vietnam where he was a crew chief on a helicopter. His actions there earned him a Bronze Star. After working at Panasonic, he was a project manager for companies involved with motorsports. He enjoyed mentoring people and building a sense of community.
Following his retirement, Steve found his true passion, Bushy Creek Reserve, a non-profit to help veterans and First Responders that have been scarred by emotional trauma through equine therapy. His love and respect for horses and the power they can have over emotional well-being and repair was deep.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Claybourn. He is survived by his wife, Joan; his two children, Andrew (Brittney) Claybourn and Hannah (Tyler) Spitznagel; his three grandchildren, Gunner, Laney and Easton; his two sisters, Suzanne (Edward) Upp and Michelle Scott; and his brother, David Claybourn.
Family and friend will be received on Friday, August 26 from 4-5 PM in the Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N. Riverside Ave., Loveland, where a Memorial Service will follow at 5 PM.
