Shirley Lynn Messer, born on August 5, 1952, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, in Blanchester, Ohio. She was the beloved owner of her own business and remembered for her entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic.
Shirley was a proud graduate of Blanchester High School. Her life was marked by service, having honorably served in the United States Army, a reflection of her dedication and commitment to her country.
Shirley leaves behind a cherished family that includes her significant other, Jerri Brinson, and her stepchildren, Angela Fultz and Amber Brinson. She took great joy in her role as a grandmother, leaving behind David Sharp, Makayla Sturgill, and Chase Sturgill, as well as her great grandson, David Sharp.
She is also survived by her loving sisters, Patricia (Larry) Wade, Nell (Jimmy Asher) Miracle, Kay Schulte, and Fay Hunley; and her brother, Mark (Almeda) Messer, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley is preceded in death by her brothers: Robert (Deborah) Messer, Thomas Messer, David Messer, John (Roxanne) Messer, and Danny (Robin) Messer. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Robert Messer and Nina (Spence) Messer, who laid the foundation for her love of family and strong values.
Her family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on March 11, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 120 W Main St, Blanchester, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at the same location, beginning at 12:00 PM.
Shirley will then be laid to rest with Military Honors, at Plainview Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ohio.
