SGT Brian John McLaren. Surviving relatives are mother Patricia Lynn Hair, father John William McLaren and Stepmother Amy McLaren. Siblings: Sister, Amanda Michelle McLaren. Step sister's are Sally Ann Emerson, Nikki Jones, and Abby Gordan. Brother, Andrew Emerson. Step brother's are David Lee Emerson, David Lee Jones, Johnny Gordan. Niece, Cassandra Lynn Wiseman. Grandparents are Jerry and Loretta Crumbacher (Amelia, Ohio), Donald and Sue Hair (Wilmington, Ohio), and Sharon Steele (Georgia) , Juanita and John Emmick (Blanchester) and John William McLaren Sr. (Sardinia, Ohio). Brian was a 2002 graduate of Blanchester High School and enlisted in the US Army in August of 2002. He attended Basic Training in Ft Jackson, South Carolina and then studied Russian at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA. Brian's first duty station was overseas with the 501st Military Intelligence Battalion in Wackernheim, Germany. After 2 years, Brian was selected to go back out to the Defense Language Institute to study Arabic. Upon completion of language school, Brian was assigned to a Special Operations Team-Alpha in the 3rd Special Forces Group at Ft. Bragg North Carolina. On November 26th, 2006 Brian proposed to the love of his life Ashika Dutt and was engaged to be married November 2nd of this year. Contributions may be made to the SGT. Brian J.
