Ruth Smith was born February 12th, 1928 in Harveyton, Kentucky, she departed life on January 13th, 2020 at her daughter's home near London, Kentucky. She was the beloved wife of Virgil Smith, having married him on February 4th, 1946. She survived Virgil who passed away on January 16, 2011. She also survived her son Darrell Smith and a grandson Curtis Smith. She was the loving mother of Kerry (the late Pat) Smith, the late Darrell (Donna) Smith, Sharon (Gary) Hall, Sandra (the late Ron) Hoskins and Elissa (Sherril) Morgan. The cherished grandmother of Leslie, Brian, Amy, Gary, Kerry, Lindsay; great grandmother of Brandon, Ashley, Donovan, Brittany, Jordan, Christian, Tylas, Justus, Madalyn, Luke, Marie, Olivia and Karson and four great great grandchildren.She also survived two brothers Willie and Franklin Slover of Bellville, Indiana and a host of nieces and nephews. She held a Master's Degree in Education. She began her teaching career at the age of 18 in Kentucky. Ruth was a teacher with the Loveland School District from November 1960 until June 1983. Family and friends will be received from 2-4 PM on Saturday, January 25 at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N Riverside Ave, Loveland, OH 45140, where a memorial service will be held at 4 PM.
