Ruth Caroline McCracken, age 89 of Geneva, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, October 10th, 2019. She was born to the late Edward E. Keener and Irene Bishop Keener on November 30, 1929.
Ruth attended Oak Park River Forest High School, before becoming a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines. She married the late Bruno J. Ligenza and moved to the far western suburb of Geneva where she lived until moving into the Holmstad, a long term care facility near her home.
Ruth loved gardening and spent many hours working in her yard. In addition, she had an antique booth at the local flea market for many years as well as sharing space at a local antique mall. Ruth loved dogs and always had a dog in her life. When she did not own a dog she was a "Grandma" to her childrens dogs and gave a lot of her time helping neighbors by dog sitting.
Ruth is survived by her children Paul E. McCracken and Sharon A. Bole. In addition she is the Grandmother to Bryan and Caty McCracken and Ethan Bole. She is the Great Grandmother of Hunter and Owen McCracken and Joey Bork. Ruth found a way to make everyone smile and brightened their day. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at the home of Sharon Bole on Saturday, November 9th, 2019. A tree will be planted in her honor. We hope you can join us in a celebration of the life of Ruth Caroline McCracken.
