Ruth Mary Colvin (nee Brinkman). Beloved wife of the late Dana H. Colvin, Sr.Loving mother of Michael J. (Marilyn) Colvin, Stephen T. (Patricia) Colvin, Robert L. Colvin , David A. (Karen) Colvin and the late Dana H. Colvin Jr., John W. Colvin and Andrew J. Colvin. Proud grandmother of 11 and great grandmother of 24. Dear sister of Leo Brinkman. Passed away April 5, 2017 at the age of 88.
Ruth was born into a large family. Her parents, Henry Caspar Brinkman(n) and Anna Morganroth were born of German immigrants settled in the Cincinnati area. Many Brinkmann descendents live in Osnabrck, Germany and the surrounding area. Brothers and sisters who predeceased Ruth are Henry (Harry), Anna, Dorothy, Leroy (Roy Sr.), William (Bill), Alma, Mary Ann, Frances, and Robert.
Ruth was in the 60th year of marriage to the love of her life when Dana passed away at the age of 80. Traveling around the country in their RV, enjoying time with friends and family at the Ceasar Creek Soaring Club, and visiting and walking trails at the Cincinnati Nature Center were great joys in their retirement years. Ruth's family well remembers the many gatherings at Ruth and Dana's Miami Ave home in Madeira. This was especially true on Madeira's 4th of July celebration with the home on the parade route and "ground zero" for fireworks.
Generosity and charity were hallmarks of Ruth's character. Blessed with longevity, Ruth enjoyed residing at Sem Terrace in Milford, Ohio. Many residents and staff there she considered dear friends. They brought great joy into her life.
