Russell F. Houston, Jr., 77 of Loveland, Ohio, passed away on September 1, 2025.

Known as "Fred" to his family and friends, he lived a life rich with passion and craftsmanship. An avid fisherman, Fred was named Bassmaster of the Year in 1974 at a local club in Hamilton, Ohio. He was also a talented woodworker who took great pride in creating furniture, especially in the Queen Anne style. His hobbies reflected both patience and precision, including amateur archery, golf, hunting, and meticulous lawn and garden care, as well as grillmaster of the best grilled steaks in town. He also loved playing his guitars, and Fred's latest hobby was bird watching; learning as much as he can on the many different species that stopped at his backyard camera bird feeders.

Fred shared a love of adventure with his wife, Debbie, and together spent more than a decade traveling on their Harley-Davidson motorcycle, creating lasting memories along the open road. He also held a special place in his heart for Shelby, his beloved beagle/brittany mix, who found her human in Fred during a deer hunting trip in Adams County and became his loyal companion.

Born July 13, 1948, in Middletown, Ohio, Fred was the son of the late Mary Ruth Hornbeck and Russell F. Houston, Sr. He dedicated 41 years of his career to GE Aerospace, beginning as a blueprint draftsman and retiring as a production engineer. His strong work ethic and attention to detail awarded him a Managerial Award in 1991.

Survived by his wife, Debbie; of 36+ years; his daughter, Stephanie (Jesse) Wesley, his four granddaughters, Madison, Maci, Maggie, and Mallory; stepson Robert (Lindsay) Brosch, and step-grandson River Brosch. Also a sister Carolyn Hagquist and a brother Paul (Elise) Houston, and numerous nieces and nephews. Fred will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family.

Private services will be held at a later date.
