Russell Lloyd Edwards, 72, of Loveland, Ohio, passed away surrounded by loved ones in his home on October 6, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle, cousin, mentor, friend, game master, and story teller, and he will be profoundly missed.

Russ (known to many as "Rusty") was born in Emporia, Kansas, on June 3, 1953, to Geraldine and Lloyd Edwards. He grew up with two sisters, Jane and Susan. He was an avid golfer, voracious reader, prize-winning horse handicapper, gourmet chef, sports fan, and lifelong learner. He became a respected leader at Hewlett Packard (where he met his wife Joan), then went on as an executive at Rational Software, which was acquired by IBM, and followed that by co-forming a start-up called Apistry. He married Joan on April 7, 1990 and they welcomed their only child Clare in 1991. He loved to play board games, work the New York Times crossword in pen, and "shoot the breeze" with his favorite people.

Russ is survived by his wife Joan, daughter Clare & her husband Josh Decker, sister Jane & her husband Ed Mellers, nieces Rachel Arden & Ashley Yakes, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Susan Adderton, and his nephew Joe Russell.

A celebration of life for Russ will be held at the Oasis Golf Club (902 Loveland-Miamiville Rd, Loveland, OH 45140) on Sunday, November 16th, 2025, from 2-5pm, with a brief program starting at 2:30pm. The family invites all who knew and loved him to share in great memories and stories together at this open house-style event.
