Roy Van Der Heyden of Goshen, OH., formerly of South Bend, IN. Born on February 6, 1932 in Mishawaka, IN. Entered into Eternal rest on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the age of 83.
Beloved husband of 62 years to Joyce June (nee Rea) Van Der Heyden. Loving father of Deborah (James) Robak and the late Sharon Ganger. Caring grandfather of Jennifer Keller-Smith, Allyson King, Lindsy Boyd, Kimberly Swalley, Carrie Lipsey, Stacy Sanna, Tracy Caperton, Aileen Robak and Alicia Kunkle. Proud great-grandfather of 18 and great-great grandfather of 1. Dear brother of Martha Leslie and the late Morris Van Der Heyden, Donald Van Der Heyden and Irene Hassenfus. Cherished son of the late Arthur and Julia Van Der Heyden. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends, including Dan Egan.
Roy proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Services with military honors will be held on Saturday, June 13, 1 PM at 1520 Gibson Rd., Goshen.
