Obituary

Roscoe "Delbert" Saylor, a devoted pastor, loving family man, and cherished member of his community, passed away on June 12, 2026, in Blanchester, Ohio. Born on November 1, 1943, in Garrard County, Kentucky, Delbert lived a life marked by faith, service, and heartfelt dedication to those around him.

For over 45 years, Pastor Saylor shepherded his congregation with unwavering commitment, most notably at the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Westboro, where he touched countless lives through his preaching, compassion, and guidance. His pastoral work was more than a career; it was his calling and a testament to his deep devotion to God and the community he served.

Outside of his spiritual leadership, Delbert found joy and solace in the simple pleasures of life. He was passionate about fishing, treasured moments spent with his family and took great pride in nurturing his garden.

Delbert was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Roscoe and Nannie Mae Saylor, and his sons, Delbert Lee Saylor and Roy Dean Saylor. He leaves behind a loving and extensive family who will carry forward his legacy of faith and kindness. His devoted wife of 64 years, Lucille Saylor, stood by his side as his partner through many seasons of life. Together, they nurtured a large and loving family including their children: Judy (Benny) Barrett, Granville (Sharon) Saylor, Dorothy (Samuel) Turner, Randy (Loretta) Saylor, and Rebecca (Phil) Brewer. Their family tree grew even further with sixteen grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Delbert is also survived by his brother, JC Holman.

A visitation will be held on June 16, 2026, from 11 AM to 1 PM. at the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Westboro, located at 168 Lundy Lane, Midland, Ohio. This will be followed immediately by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.

Interment will take place at Woodville Cemetery, Blanchester, Ohio.

Delbert’s life was a blessing to all who knew him. He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his tender heart, and his generous spirit, a true shepherd to his flock, a beloved husband and father, and a revered elder whose impact will endure in the hearts of many.
