Obituary

Ronald “Ron” Perry Hopkins, age 80, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, at home surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on November 28, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ron was a proud lifelong resident of the Loveland area. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, veteran and friend whose life was defined by his unwavering love for family and his generous heart.

Ron proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. His service was a source of patriotic pride throughout his life, and he carried the values of dedication, loyalty, and perseverance with him long after his military years.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Blanche Hopkins . He is survived by his brother, Tony Hopkins(Jo Anne Hopkins), and his sister, Elaine Pollington. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Shania Daniel (Reagan Daniel), Christian Hopkins, Krissy Bogan(Danny Bogan), and Jennifer Pollington.

Ron was the beloved husband of Darlene Hopkins and a loving father to Wendy Hopkins, Cristy Irwin, and Nikki Fallon (Brian Fallon). He was a proud grandfather to Madalyn, Nicholas, Brody and Bryce Burleson, Skyler Oney (Jake Oney), Trey Fallon, Kallista Vargas (Jose Vargas) Dakota and Olivia Irwin. He was also blessed to be a great-grandfather to Milo and Aiden who brought him tremendous joy.

Family was the center of Ron’s world. Nothing made him happier than spending time with those he loved. Whether it was swimming in the pool and grilling at home, enjoying a meal at one of his favorite restaurants, being at a sporting event or simply sitting together sharing stories and laughter, Ron cherished every moment with his family.

A devoted sports fan, Ron was a lifelong supporter of the Cincinnati Reds, as he had season tickets during the World Series run of the Big Red Machine. Even more important to him were the games, matches, and events involving his grandchildren. He was their biggest fan and greatest supporter, faithfully attending their sporting events and celebrating their accomplishments. His presence in the stands was a constant reminder of his love and encouragement.

Ron also enjoyed listening to golden oldies music, which often provided the soundtrack to family gatherings and quiet afternoons alike.

Those who knew Ron will remember his steady presence, his devotion to family, his patriotism and his ability to make others feel welcomed and loved. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, loyalty, and countless cherished memories that will live on through his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N. Riverside Drive, Loveland, Ohio 45140. Family visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with public visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
