Ron Rooks of Loveland. Beloved husband of Mary Paula Rooks (nee Ohlhaut). Devoted father of Shelly Simmons (David), Ryan Rooks, Matthew Rooks (Michelle), Lindsey Martin (James) and Scott Rooks. Proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren. Dear brother of Betty Meinking. Passed away August 31, 2019 at the age of 77. Ron was a three time All-City Basketball player for Mt. Healthy High School and then went on to play basketball for the University of Louisville for 4 years. Later he became a member of the Greater Cincinnati Basketball Hall of Fame. He was a teacher and coach for 33 years and also worked for River Downs Race Track for 54 years. Friends will be received Thursday, September 5 from 5-8 PM in the Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N. Riverside Ave., Loveland. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 6 at 9:30 AM at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, 6543 Miami Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45243. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
