Roger Thirey, 64, of Martinsville, Ohio, passed away June 28, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 1, 1952 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Paul and Lena Thirey , the youngest of their four children. Roger served in the United States Army Reserve following high school for six years. In 1974 he began his career at Milacron and retired in March, 2016, as a senior program analyst. He was passionate about farming and proudly worked the family farm his entire life. In 1978 he married the love of his life and together they had three children. Family was his life and spending time with them was his greatest joy. He was the beloved husband of 38 years to Penny Thirey; loving father of Bess (Joe) Long, Chris Thirey, and Alison (Issac) Williams; proud papaw of Owen, Jackson, and Max Long and Norah Williams; dear friend to many. Roger was preceded in death by his parents. He will be greatly missed and will forever live in our hearts and memories. Friends will be received on Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 2-5pm at Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, Ohio 45107.
