Roger Neil Swing passed away September 20, 2026, at the age of 81. Roger was born on February 5, 1945, in La Porte, IN to Jake and Florence (nee Draves) Swing. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda (nee Kaiser) Swing; daughter, Denise (Duane) Davies Busch; grandsons, Owen and Alan; nieces, Kim, Kelly, Amy and nephew, Scott; sisters-in-law, Alice Swing and Claudia Mierau; multiple cousins; his devoted caregiver and friend, Tami and numerous long-time friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, James "Jim" Swing and Bruce Swing.

Roger was a graduate of La Porte High School and Western Michigan University. Following graduation he stayed in Kalamazoo, MI where he worked as an accountant for the Fabri-Kal Corporation. It was during this time that he met Linda at a bowling league at Airway Lanes in Portage. They were married at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Portage, MI on March 23, 1974. It was on that day he became “Dad” to Denise.

In the early 1990’s, Roger and Linda moved to Henderson, NV where he fulfilled a dream of becoming a black jack dealer and more importantly, was able to golf year round. They made several trips west to Hawaii and always found time to travel east to visit Denise and her family. The Busches were blessed to spend many, memory-filled vacations with them in the desert. Eventually, Linda convinced Roger to move back to the land of cold winters, so they could be close to their beloved grandsons.

Wherever they lived, Roger and Linda enjoyed hosting and attending gatherings with friends and family. He loved to laugh and was always ready with a joke. An avid golfer, he enjoyed playing great courses and was a member of many clubs over the years including The Moores in Portage, MI; The Legend at Shanty Creek, MI; Dragon Ridge in Henderson, NV; and The Oasis in Loveland, OH.

Roger was a caring and generous man. He was quick to help family, friends, neighbors, or strangers in need. He was always an active member at the churches they attended, where he served in many roles including serving on several internship committees. In recent years he lovingly cared for Linda as they navigated her journey with Alzheimer's. Even after he made the difficult decision to move her to memory care, he continued to take her out to dinner and on excursions. When that became difficult, they would spend the days in his apartment watching sporting events on TV, napping, and sharing dinner together.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, October 5 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 101 S. Lebanon Rd., Loveland, OH. A reception with visitation will begin at Noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Free Kids or Prince of Peace Lutheran Church
