Roberta JoAnn Johnson, 77, formerly of South Bend, passed away at 3:40 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the East Galbraith Nursing Facility, Cincinnati, OH. Roberta was born on November 2, 1931 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Wilbur E. and Genevieve B. (Grochowalski) Monigan. She has lived most of her life in South Bend, moving to Cincinnati in September 2006 to be close to her daughter. Roberta was a 1950 graduate of Riley High School. She was a member of St. Matthew Cathedral, South Bend. Roberta was employed with Real Services in South Bend as an administrative assistant for 8 years. Prior, she worked as a leasing consultant for Irish Hills Apartment Complex, with AT & T Telephone Company and Pitney Bowes. In Cincinnati, Roberta lived at Berrywood Apartments with her cat Charlie, where she made many friends and enjoyed playing Bingo and Wii Bowling. She had recently become a member of St. Margaret of York Church. She most enjoyed spending time with her "angel," her granddaughter Emily. Roberta is survived by her two children; Diane M. and David Schaller of Maineville, OH and David A. and Lynette Johnson of Bristol, IN; one granddaughter, Emily Schaller; and the father of their children, Gerald R. Johnson of Ormond Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Roberta J. Johnson may be donated to Hospice of Cincinnati, 4310 Cooper Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45242.
