Robert John Westerkamp, also known as Bob to his close friends and family, of Cincinnati, OH, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, at the age of 90. Beloved husband of 65 years to Marlene Westerkamp (nee Anderson). Devoted father of Steve (Aileen) Westerkamp, Greg (Anita) Westerkamp, Tom (Lisa) Westerkamp, Jim (Chris) Westerkamp, Susan (Vito) Locaputo, John (Heather) Westerkamp, Christine May, and Linda (Gary) Freese. Bob leaves a legacy of 30 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren who will cherish his memory.
Bob leaves behind a brother, Bill Westerkamp, and a sister, Mary McGoron. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Mary Westerkamp, and his sister, Jeanette Zimmerman.
Bob was born and raised in Cincinnati. He was in the 1953 graduating class at St. Xavier High School. Bob was a member of the United States Air National Guard and served overseas in Germany. Marlene and Bob dated for 8 years prior to being wed, spending a total of 73 years together. They spent over 30 years living in Madison, Indiana, where Bob enjoyed riding his tractor, taking rides with his Mrs., and hosting camp-outs for his children and grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received Friday, March 27, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 6539 Beechmont Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45230, where a Mass of Christian burial for Bob will be held at 10:30 AM. Interment Rose Hill Cemetery in Mason, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
