Bob passed away Tuesday January 31, 2012 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. Bob was born February 12, 1932 in Woodville, OH, to Homer W. and Eva Snider Jackson, in the home built by his father and grandfather. Bob spent his life in Woodville and in the Blanchester Area, located 3 miles south of Blanchester. As a child he covered the area trapping, fishing, and farming. Twenty six years ago, he returned to his childhood home. He slept in the room in which he was born until the time of his passing.
Bob held many jobs in his 80 years. He worked at American Laundry Machinery Company in Norwood as a carpenter and welder and in later years at Cincinnati Milacron as a welder until the time of his retirement. He took two years out of this time to serve his country in Korea as a member of the Army. From February 1952 through December 1953 he was attached to the famous 45th Infantry Division known as the Thunderbirds. Bob was a faithful member of Bible Baptist Church. Bob was one of eleven children, three of which died in infancy. He was preceded in death by older brothers and sisters Donald Jackson, Irwin Jackson, Jean Elizabeth (Betty) Lower, and Donnabelle Gallimore. He is survived by siblings Joan Norton, Homer Jackson Jr. and Dean Jackson.
Bob is survived by Freda Delores (nee Crawford) of 60 years, whom he married on January 11th, 1952 in Covington, KY. They subsequently had five children Christine (Jeff) Santel, Tom (Tammy) Jackson, Catherine (Richard) Stoffer, Jayne (Michael) McCoy and Terry Jackson. He will be greatly missed by his 8 grandchildren: Brandon (Kari) Jackson, Elizabeth (Bryan) Truelock, Anderson Stoffer, Timothy Stoffer, Amanda Stoffer, Sarah (Matt) Redick, Casey (Liza) McCoy and Lynna McCoy and his 15 great grandchildren.
