Robert R. Ryan, age 95, passed away May 21, 2022 at Ohio Living Mount Pleasant in Monroe. Beloved husband of 67 years to the late Hilda Ann (nee Howard) Ryan. Loving father of Kevin (the late Mary Ellen) Ryan, Timothy (the late Sue) Ryan, Connie (Tim) Dall and Molly (Chris) Cain. Proud grandfather of Colleen Ryan, Bridget (Chris) Aubin, Sean (Lizz) Ryan, Nathan (Angie) Dall, Natalie Dall, Collin Cain and Emma Cain. Great Grandfather of Audrey Aubin, Nora Dall, Riley Ryan and Hailey Ryan. Dear brother of Marge Bierlein, Rita Sabada, Patricia Sirl and the late Helen Dawson, Evelyn Reiling and Mary Alice Ryan. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Proud US Army WWII Veteran. During his time in the Army, Bob wrote for Stars and Stripes, and he also worked with plastic surgeons for those veterans coming back who needed plastic surgery. He went on to work for Huffy Bicycle for over four decades where he helped to develop bike trails all over Ohio for Rails and Trails. Bob was very active in appraisals and antiques and even owned his own company. He was involved with Heisey Collectors of America and until very recently volunteered at the Treasure Barn at Mt. Pleasant. In addition, he was very active at Incarnation Parish in Centerville, OH and St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer, IN. Most importantly, Bob had many "adopted" children and grandchildren, and he left a legacy of love and acceptance. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 31 at 2 PM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 330 Lebanon St., Monroe, OH 45050, where friends will be received from 1 PM until time of Mass. Private inurnment Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to the Ohio Living Mt. Pleasant Foundation, 225 Britton Lane, Monroe, OH 45050.
