Robert Watts Kelley of Maineville, OH passed away at Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at the age of 78. He was born in 1943 at Fort Campbell, KY to parents Robert Elwyn and Louise Watts Kelley. After WWII, the Kelley family returned to live in Mariemont, OH. After graduating from Purdue, Bob worked for Cincinnati Milacron Electronic Systems Division for 47 years. His work as an electrical engineer allowed him to travel nationally and internationally.
Bob was the beloved husband of Mary Hill Kelley for 24 years; dear father of Robert Ewers (Angela) Kelley of Huntington Beach, CA, and Thomas Watts (JungSun Park) Kelley of Rochester Hills, MI. Bob was the loving brother of Christina (Ike) Sedberry of Carmel, IN and Patricia Anastario of Winter Springs, FL and proud grandfather of Bobby, Hayden, Michelle, and Ryan Kelley.
He was also the stepfather of Steven, Stanley and Larry Redfield, and Lori Redfield Hunt, and step grandfather of Colton Redfield and Madeline Hunt of Washington.
Bob was predeceased by his parents and his first wife of 26 years, Joyce Marie Ewers, the mother of his children.
Bob enjoyed life with his family and friends with love, kindness, generosity, humor, intelligence, and multiple hobbies. He had an early interest in music, ham-radio, trains, and travel. He played a 12-string guitar and sang with a beautiful tenor voice. Bob built a 65-foot tall radio tower in his backyard to further pursue his ham-radio hobby. Travels on the train with his grandmother, Carmen Kelley, led to a basement-sized model train layout that he constructed himself. Other interests included spelunking, car racing in his Lotus, and GOLF!
As a young father, Bob took his family camping throughout the USA. He was a cub scout den leader for son Bob, coached soccer teams for son Tom, and volunteered to support St. Columban church's Friday night Bingo and Summer festival beer booth concessions.
After retirement, Bob traveled with his wife Mary in their dream RV with their beloved dogs. The Loveland Aerie became a focal point in Bob's life, where friendships abounded. He was a Trustee and became an integral part of the FOE. A favorite song of his was "I did it my way" which is how he lived life. Bob will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
