Robert Charles Hauser (Chuck), 95 of Loveland, Ohio, passed away January 11, 2014 at the age of 95.
A brief Celebration of Life service with military honors will be held at 10:00am, Thursday, January 16th at the Chapel at Graceland Memorial Gardens, 5989 Deerfield Road, Milford, Ohio 45150. Pastor Jack Carpenter will be officiating.
Chuck was born November 3, 1918 to Charles and Fanny Hauser in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Withrow High School in 1936 and attended the University of Cincinnati before WWII began. In 1940 he joined the US Army and served in the South Pacific. On December 27, 1941, he married Elizabeth Schlueter. They were married almost 68 years before her passing in 2008. After the war he was a lithographer for 35 years with Gibson Greeting Cards in Cincinnati. Chuck loved sports, reading, gardening, political discussions, and most importantly, spending time with his children and grandchildren. Chuck is survived by his children: Barbara Hauser Smith (Harry) of Gallatin, Tennessee; Robert Hauser (Joan) of Maineville, Ohio; and William Hauser (Jill, deceased) of Loveland, Ohio. Six grandchildren: Brian Smith (Michele); Brad Smith (Heather); Amy Smith; LT Bethany Hauser Clawson (CPT Matthew); Holly Hauser, DVM; and Jeffrey Hauser. Six great grandchildren: Andrew Smith, Brennan Smith, Lindsey Smith, Zachary Smith, Coby Smith and Chloe Smith. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Hauser McCoy, and many nieces and nephews.
