Passed peacefully in Hospice Care July 10th, age 91.
She lived independently until her death. This independent spirit led her at the young age of 20 in 1943 to answer an Add in the paper for workers (DuPont Co) in the tiny town of Hanford Washington. She left her Reading home, boarded a train across the country by herself, to Richland Washington to work on the Manhattan Project. She received a certificate from Secretary of the War Henry Stimson, for participation in the work essential to the production of the Atomic Bomb, thereby contributing to the successful conclusion of WW II. Retired from GE, loved travel and adventure.
