Retired Police Chief, Rick Combs, a dedicated husband and father, and a loyal leader, passed onto eternal peace on July 1, 2025, at the age of 70. Rick's passing marks the end of a life that was defined by courage, service, and unwavering commitment to the safety and well being of others. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and community.

Rick was a devoted family man. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Lori Combs (nee Bell), their three daughters, Kaitlyn, Rebecca (Adam) and Mallory Combs (Brian and Taryn Garza), and his two "grandbabies" as Grampy would say, Ravyn Garza and Mila Murphy. His grandbabies were the biggest and most cherished part of his heart. He is also survived by his brother, Donald "Don" Combs. Rick was preceded in death by his loving parents, Georgia "Ruth" (nee Becknell) and William "Dempsey" Combs.

Rick retired with a total of 41 years of service to two communities, a township and a county. He continued to serve the community on the Clermont County Board of Elections following his retirement. Rick was passionate about politics and was willing to engage with anyone about it, anytime, any place.

Rick was not just a family man and law man. He was a mentor, protector, trusted friend, and neighbor. Even in retirement, he remained a valued role model, advocate for public safety and service, but most of all, Rick served his community, and he served it with honor. We will take it from here, Chief.

A memorial service will be held at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 129 N Riverside Ave, Loveland, OH, on Friday, July 11, 2025, with visitation 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM, services will begin at 12:30 PM. Burial services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Miamiville, OH, to follow. Donations in Rick's memory may be directed to the Good Samaritan Foundation , with designation to the Trihealth Cancer & Blood Institute.
