Richard J., passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 21st in his home in Loveland, Ohio at the age of 78 after a courageous battle with cancer. Dick was extremely loving and proud of his family including his four sons, Richard J Lewis Jr. (Nancy), William Earl Lewis (Ellen), Thomas Lewis, and Robert Lewis; his grandchildren, John, Jeffrey (Kristen), William, Sarah, Jason, Keith and Maggie, and his great grandson, Timothy. He is also survived by his brother Thomas W Lewis of Minot, ND as well as many friends and acquaintances. Dick enjoyed many activities including shooting black powder civil war and revolutionary war pistols, revolvers, and rifles; golfing; bowling; scuba diving; flying planes; and motorcycle riding and racing. He loved to travel, especially to Europe and South America, and he always had stories to tell about these adventures. He enjoyed making friends and never knew a stranger. Dick worked at GE Aircraft Engines and retired from GE after 43 years as a commercial performance expert. His favorite engine program was GE 90. Even after he retired, he would get invited to sit in on meetings that discussed what new upgrades were being planned for the GE 90. Dick was a member of O'Bannon Creek Golf Club where he made many friends and formed great relationships. He joined O'Bannon Creek before he had ever played a round of golf. The game of golf turned into his new passion, and he enjoyed nothing more than being on the golf course with his son and grandsons. The family will receive friends at Epiphany United Methodist Church from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27th and on Saturday, February 28th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Epiphany United Methodist Church, 6635 Loveland-Miamiville Road, Loveland OH 45150.
