IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Reva And Dallas
Vest
May 12, 1933 – February 1, 2024
A beautiful love story, 70 years strong has come to an end with the passing of Dallas and Reva Vest.
Dallas Vest at age 91 passed away peacefully on December 31st, 2023, with the love of his life Reva Meeks Vest, age 90 joining him in heaven on February 1st, 2024. Their loving daughter Janet remained by both of their sides until the very end.
Born in Casey County, Kentucky in 1932, Dallas entered the Army at age 18 and was a proud Veteran serving in the Korean War. Upon his arrival home from war, Dallas met the love of his life, Reva, born in 1933 and raised in Dunnville, Kentucky. The couple were married on September 12th, 1953 and soon after moved to Blue Ash, Ohio where they would reside until March 2020.
Dallas worked many years in the steel industry until his retirement in 1999, then working at Lowe's for several years to keep himself busy. Reva became a beautician serving her loyal customers for over 30 years until Dementia forced her into retirement. Enjoying the slower pace of being retired, Dallas and Reva were daily breakfast customers at Bob Evans on Pfeiffer Road and appreciated the friendships created with staff. Dallas could be pointed out easily, always wearing his Korean War Vet hat with pride, anytime he left his house.
Dallas and Reva were proud parents of their two daughters, Cathy and Janet. The death of Cathy in 2004, was their greatest loss and their broken hearts were never quite healed.
Cherishing their family, the couple were proud grandparents to their 5 grandchildren attending many school and sporting events throughout the years and never missing a birthday. They were blessed even more so with 7 great-grandchildren whom they loved dearly.
In February 2023, while residing at Central Parke Memory Care, Dallas and Reva were featured in a Channel 9 News story as they renewed their vows in celebration of Valentine's Day and their approaching 70-year wedding anniversary. During their interview, Reva shared "I love him (Dallas) like the day we got married". There is no question, they were the most devoted couple and set a wonderful example of love.
They are preceded in death by their daughter Cathy East. They are survived by their daughter Janet (Terrence) Bosserman; their grandchildren, Ryan (Angela) Bosserman, David (Kody) East, Michael (Catherine) East, Jessica (Andrew) Stearns, Stacey (Scott) Arbino, and great-grandchildren; Cole Bosserman, Brooklyn Reva, Josie and Barrett Arbino, Allison and Aubree Stearns, and Thomas Dallas East.
A private family service will be held graveside.
