Rev. Marion "Bud" Hampton of Blanchester, OH. Went home to be with the Lord on August 21, 2021 at the age of 81. Bud was born on November 17, 1939 in Pineville (Bell County), KY to William and Ruby Hampton. Bud was very active in his church, being a youth director, Sunday school and bible teacher, pastor and treasurer of the church as well as writing and directing seasonal plays. He served in the mission field at home and abroad. Bud enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, exploring and boating. He loved being a Dad and a Papaw to his children and grandchildren while being a role model for others to follow. Bud is survived by his beloved wife, Berneace (nee Metcalfe) Hampton; four daughters, Anita Yvonne (David) Garrison of Wilmington, OH, Kelly (Terry) Erwin of Blanchester, OH, Tracy (Greg) Shimer of Loveland, OH, Kimberly (Shawn) Pike of Williamsburg, OH; one son, CW2 (Ret.) Josh (Libby) Hampton of Blanchester, OH.; two step-daughters, Toni (Garry) Barnes, Sonia Hall; three step-sons, William (Lania) Hall, Rick Hall and Terry Hall; grandchildren, Tristan (Sara) Garrison, Jordan (Courtney) Garrison, Zac Gilkison, Brandon (Hannah) Gilkison, Cody (Katie) Gilkison, James Erwin, Jesse (Teresa) Erwin, Destin Shimer, Ashton (Ruben) Walker, Autumn Shimer, Isaac Shimer, Hannah (Justin) Nickell, Sarah Pike, Joshua Lane Hampton and Lacey Hampton; a host of step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; seven brothers, Jack, Ron, Earl, Tom, Wayne, Eddie and Jerry Hampton; four sisters, Mary Ann Sutton, Etta Hampton, Wilma Jones and Renee Hicks. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends. Bud is preceded in death by his first wife, Margie (nee Crider) Hampton; three brothers, Bill, Jim and Terry Hampton; parents, William Henry and Ruby (nee Miles) Hampton. Friends will be received from 5 PM - 8 PM on Sunday, August 29 at Butlerville Church of God, 8764 SR 132 N, Pleasant Plain, OH. On Monday, August 30 a visitation will be held from 10 AM - 11 AM at Butlerville Church of God, where A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11 AM, with Rev. Robert W. Hughes officiating. Interment, Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, OH. Pallbearers for Bud are Marcus Hall, Tristan Garrison, Jordan Garrison, Zac Gilkison, Brandon Gilkison, Cody Gilkison, Isaac Shimer and Lane Hampton.
