Rev. Jon W. Barker of Maineville. Beloved husband of Elaine Blank Barker. Loving father of Katharine "Katie" Abdallah. Cherished grandfather of Ayah Abdallah. Dear brother of Timothy (Kim) Barker. Passed away January 30, 2021 at the age of 82. An alum of Ohio Wesleyan University and The Methodist Theological School in Ohio, Jon pastored in the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church for 42 years. He served as Chaplain for the police and fire departments of many of the communities where he pastored. He was an Army Chaplain for 3 years during the 1960's serving the Ohio National Guard. Jon was active with the American Legion Ralph L. Taylor Post #37, North College Hill, and the Cincinnati base of the Submarine Veterans. He enjoyed his time with fellow Pennsylvania Railroad model railroaders. Jon was curious and gregarious. He made friends everywhere he went. Family and friends will be received from Noon on Friday, February 5 at Mason United Methodist Church, 6315 S. Mason Montgomery Road, Mason, OH 45040, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m..
