The world lost a great man, Calvin Smith, 69, of Pleasant Plain, Ohio, on February 19, 2018. Calvin is preceded in death by his mother Alpha OBryant. Calvin is survived by the love of his life Linda, wife of 50 years, daughter Tina (Eric) Reichert, son Michael (Lori) Smith, daughter Jennifer (Michael) Stacey. Nine grandchildren Katie Beth (John Taylor), Makayla, Megan, Logan, Hayden, Delilah, Savanna, Nolan, and Adalynn. Two sisters Jean (Garlet) Davidson and Judy (Joe) Baldwin, Curtis OBryant, nieces and nephews, and many loving extended family members, and friends. Calvin was a loving and hardworking husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved giving more than receiving in life. Calvin worked as a truck driver at R&L Carriers, for over 30+ years until he was forced to stop due to his illness. He enjoyed giving hayrides for the family, traveling, and spreading the word of God with his wife Linda in Hope Ministries. He spent the last few years serving the community by starting Goshen Warrior Packs with his wife and family for needy children in Goshen. Calvin was always helping with family, friends, and those in need. A special thank you to R&L carriers, Robby Robert and the Roberts family for their love and support. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 PM, on February 22nd, 2018 at Tufts Schildmeyer, 1668 State Route 28, Goshen, Ohio 45122. Funeral service for Calvin will be at Tufts Schildmeyer at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 23, 2018. Calvin will be laid to rest following the service at Goshen Cemetery, Goshen Ohio 45122. Family request that his belief of giving unto others can be honored with memorial donations to the Goshen Warriors Packs to continue his legacy of giving to needy children in the Goshen community.
