Obituary

Ralph Sidney Hamilton Sr, born on October 16, 1928, found his eternal home on September 1, 2025. He was the beloved son of Alvi Hamilton and Esther Victoria Hamilton. Reverend Hamilton, as he was affectionately known as, was strong in his faith and a devout believer in God's word. His journey on this earth was marked with laughter, love for his family, and his unwavering faith in God that aided in him drawing disciples to Christ. His passing has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him near and far. We ask that you remember the life and legacy that he has left behind and the impact that he has made on the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Reverend Hamilton married Eleanor Vann on February 18, 1949. Within this union, they were gifted four sons Gordan Hamilton, Mark Anthony Hamilton, Ralph Sidney Hamilton Jr., Christopher Hamilton and one daughter Cynthia Hamilton (McNeill) bringing them both great joy. After forty-five years of marriage, Eleanor Hamilton departed this life leaving a legacy of love, wisdom, and laughter. In 1995, Reverend Hamilton met Mary Stallworth. In this union, the Hamilton family embraced Andrew and James Stallworth as an added addition to the family. Mary Stallworth departed this life leaving a legacy of kindness, gentleness, and compassion. Reverend Hamilton received his education in the Loveland Public School system. He graduated from Loveland High School in the year of 1946. After graduating, Reverend Hamilton served in the United States Army. Reverend Hamilton began work as a tradesman and incorporated a business with his brothers for a brief period. He found his purpose and calling in life after giving his life to God.

After receiving the call to ministry, Reverend Hamilton began his life of pastoring which culminated nearly sixty years of ministry. He served as pastor of the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Camp Dennison Ohio and of the First Baptist Church of Oakley in Oakley Ohio where he was able to see many give their lives to Christ.

With this he was well pleased. Reverend Hamilton was an avid golfer and he loved spending time playing with both relatives and close friends. Reverend Hamilton was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Alvi and Esther Hamilton, Earl Hamilton (Gladys), Ethel Combs (Robert), Ann Osborne (C.L. Osborne), Lawrence Hamilton (Mary), Donald Hamilton (Johnnie), Allison Hamilton (Nancy). His wives Eleanor Hamilton and Mary Hamilton. His loving son Gordon Hamilton (Paulette). Reverend Hamilton is survived by his sons Mark Anthony Hamilton (Bridget), Ralph Sidney Hamilton Jr., Christopher Hamilton (Regina), and his daughter Cynthia McNeill (Thomas). Reverend Hamilton leaves to cherish eighteen grandchildren, forty-six great grandchildren, and four great great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Those who knew Reverend Hamilton will remember him for his infectious smile, his deep-rooted faith in Jesus Christ, and his unwavering commitment to his family and friends alike. He had a rare gift of making others smile when imparting God's word to bring peace to any situation. We are resolved that he has made Heaven his home.
