Robert "Phil" Varney of Milford, Ohio passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a courageous and fierce battle against ALS. He married his high school sweetheart, Jacci, in November 1979. He was the beloved dad to Sarah (Kirk) and Taylor (Lindsay) and loving grandpa to Charlotte and Kristopher, who held a special place in his heart. He was the cherished son of the late Harold and Margaret Varney.  Dear brother of Louise (the late John) Baumgart, Linda (Tom) Hudie, Esther (Grady) Byrd, Regina Theilman, Glen Varney, and Dena (Stuart) Brooks. Proud to be an uncle to several nephews and a niece. He was the devoted son-in-law to George and Carolyn Wolbers.

Phil graduated from Loveland High School in 1976, where he played several sports and excelled in basketball. He continued his education at the University of Cincinnati and worked for 40 years in sales management. After retiring, he found great joy in becoming a school bus driver but was forced to retire as a result of his disease. In his spare time, Phil loved being with family and taking in rounds of golf.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-5 PM on Sunday, September 10 at the Leming House, 5951 Buckwheat Road, Milford, OH 45150.
