Paula, 78 passed away on April 22, 2014 at her daughter's home in West Chester, Ohio. She was born on February 3, 1936 to Ora and Leone Fry Johantgen. After the untimely death of her mother, she was lovingly raised by her step-mother Leah Wilson Johantgen.
Paula grew up in Jackson, Michigan and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After moving to Ohio she received her Cosmetology license and owned and operated Paula's Motif in downtown Cincinnati. Paula's zest for life could be seen in her passion for jazz, painting, interior design and a vast and varied collection of lifelong friends.
She is survived by her beloved brother Niles Johantgen (Wilma), daughters Robin Gratsch Madden (Gary), Piper Gratsch Mills (Jim), Ronilisa Gratsch Byram, and step children Michael Maschmeier (Lorie) and Leslie Maschmeier Wheeler (Hubert).
Paula was a loving "Nana" to Chelsey, Adam and Joshua Castrucci, Oliver Brooks Madden, Ashley Mills (Denisha), Caroline and Carson Maschmeier, Robbie Favre, and Brandon Wheeler, and a great-grandchild Greyson Mills.
