Paul "Dick" Richard Ayres of Goshen, OH, passed peacefully surrounded by family at his home on Veterans Day, November 11, 2025, at the age of 82. Dick was born on January 6, 1943, in Cincinnati, OH to Harold and Helen Ayres.
Dick was the beloved husband of 43 years to Gaylyne Joyce (nee Skaggs) Ayres. Loving father of Ricena "Rickie" (Greg) Watson, Rebecca "Beckie" (Terry) Musselman, Paul "Dickie" (Desiree) Ayres, Richard "Ric" Ayers, Nicole Tiemann, Sandra Ayres, Hannah Tiemann Ayres and Jadin Tiemann Ayres and stepfather of Dwayne Dillon, Sherry Dillon (Joe) Stone and Timothy Dillon. Caring grandfather of Jessica (Brett) Hammack, Olivia (Todd) Bokenkotter, Heather Gregory, Paul "Richie" Ayres, Michael Musselman, Ryan Watson, Mya, Ada and Emma Kaylor, Kyndall Johnson and Lexi Ayers, step-grandfather of Kyle Dillon, Justin Berger and the late Shawn Berger. Proud great-grandfather of McKenzie Hammack, Haylie Hammack, Ryleigh Ryan, Oakley Bokenkotter, Ryder Ryan and Issac Ayres. Dear brother of Sandra (William) Hall. Devoted uncle of Lisa (Joe) Kellerman and Chris Hall. Cherished son of the late Harold King Ayres and Helen Elizabeth (nee Childress) Hill. Also survived by numerous relatives and many dear friends.
Dick proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1961 to 1965. He was a pipefitter with Local 392 Pipefitters of Cincinnati, OH. Dick served as the joint apprentice training coordinator for Local 392 for several years. Dick was an avid golfer and worked at the Tournament Players Club (TPC) in Maineville, OH. He coached youth football and knothole baseball at Clermont Northeastern School District, where he initiated the CNE youth athletic program.
Friends will be received from 10 AM to 12 Noon, Friday, November 14 at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where services will begin at 12 Noon on Friday. The interment will take place with military honors at Cherry Fork Cemetery, Adams County, OH following the service.
