Obituary

On Tuesday, Feb. 16th, 2016, our most cherished Patsieann "Auntie" McDonald passed away in a Cincinnati hospital after suffering a stroke at her home. She was in her 79th year. One of three children, Patsieann Grace Misiti was born on April 2nd, 1936, in Port Chester, New York. She was the daughter of the late Anthony John Misiti, Sr. and Rose Frances Lombardo Misiti. Her husband of 38 years, George McDonald, her brother, Anthony John Misiti, Jr. and his wife Jeannette, her nephew Michael George Misiti and her niece Maria Grace Misiti preceded her in death. Patsieann graduated Port Chester High School as valedictorian and immediately entered the convent of the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Mundelein College (now part of Loyola University) in Chicago, IL, where she discerned her vocation to become a Catholic nun. Patsieann had to leave the convent before she made her final vows due to serious health issues. She recuperated in Beckley, WV, with her brother Tony and his children before returning to the northeast. Once back home, Patsieann joined the Newman Club in Connecticut, where she met George. After getting married on August 1, 1972, they resided in Nyack, NY, then Mamaroneck, NY. Following retirement, they lived in Houston, TX, Baton Rouge, LA, Peekskill, NY, and Sharonville, OH. Patsieann will be remembered for her life of prayerful love and concern for others. She leaves to cherish her memory her brother, John Monte Misiti and his wife Irene of Newburgh, New York; nieces Patsieann Theresa Misiti and her husband Keith Bratt of Arlington, VA, Paula Marie Misiti Hall and her husband Dr. Alan Hall of Savannah, GA, Kimberly Rose Misiti Downey and her husband Maurice of Brookfield, CT and Denise Renae Misiti Sentementes and her husband Nick of Monroe, CT; nephews Lawrence Anthony Misiti and his wife Leslie of Beckley, WV, Anthony John Misiti, III and his wife Liz of Arvada, CO, Vincent Stephen Misiti and his wife Marianne of Mentor, OH and John Robert Misiti of Newburgh, NY; niece-in-law Mary Ruth Richardson Misiti of Charleston, WV; 25 great-nieces and great-nephews and 2 great-great nieces. On Saturday, Feb. 20th we will honor the life of Patsieann McDonald beginning with the Most Holy Rosary at 10:30 am at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 1109 Church Street, Reading, OH 45215, followed by the Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am. Patsieann will be laid to rest beside her husband George at the Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, OH, in a separate ceremony Monday February 22nd.
