IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia Elliott
Williams
August 31, 1937 – July 9, 2025
In Loving Memory of Patricia. Patricia was a lifelong educator whose career began as a high school teacher shortly after graduating college and culminated in her role as a professor of Accounting at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. Her commitment to teaching spanned all levels, and she touched the lives of countless students throughout her career.
She was also a dedicated lifelong learner. Patricia earned her Bachelor's Degree from Catawba College, a Master's Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a PhD from Louisiana State University, and an MBA from the University of North Texas. Her pursuit of knowledge never waned.
Beyond her academic achievements, Patricia held multiple professional designations, including Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA). She gave back generously to her community, serving on local library boards, participating in genealogy organizations, and holding state-level leadership positions in the American Association of University Women (AAUW)—a pioneering organization she cherished deeply dedicated to advancing gender equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy.
Even in retirement, Patricia remained a voracious seeker of knowledge. She even recently downloaded and began exploring ChatGPT on her iPad, curious to learn about the emerging field of artificial intelligence.
Her love extended beyond academics—she was an avid gardener, and her rooms were always filled with vibrant plants she delighted in showing to visitors. Patricia had a unique gift for offering life advice and encouragement, often when most needed, and sometimes even when least expected. Her care and investment in others' success were unwavering and heartfelt.
She leaves behind a legacy of learning, kindness, and spirited advocacy that will remain in the hearts of all who had the joy to know her.
Patricia is survived by her beloved extended family in Indiana and North Carolina, her adopted extended family here in the Cincinnati area, and her son Mercury, daughter-in-law Gretchen, and granddaughters Riley and Olivia.
A memorial service is planned to be held at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home in Loveland, Ohio on August 9th at 3:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia's memory can be made to her cherished AAUW at www.aauw.org .
